VEGGIE CHICK!

A veggie on a mission...

Veggie Chick

Welcome! I hope you'll take a few minutes to read this page before you explore the rest of the site. I'd like explain why I created Veggie Chick! and talk in some detail about some pages in particular. I'd also like to clarify my position on the issues I've explored.

I created Veggie Chick! in March 2006, shortly after becoming a youth contact for Viva! (Vegetarians International Voice for Animals), Animal Aid and the Vegetarian Society (VegSoc). I knew that, by doing this, I would be able to reach a large number of people very quickly and easily. I also wanted to practise my computer and web design skills.

The 'Diet' pages contain tips and information about vegetarian and vegan diets which I believe you may find useful. I have researched their contents but they are simply intended as a guide and shouldn't be taken as fact. For facts, you should refer to the excellent resources produced by the three organisations I have mentioned or take a look at the websites in my 'Links' section.

The 'Issues' pages contain information about a variety of issues about which I care deeply. I conducted much research before compiling them and I consider the information given to be factual. Of course, I have only given the information which supports my own beliefs but I see no reason to do otherwise. I want to promote a positive attitude towards vegetarianism as it has certainly been, and continues to be, a positive experience for me and I want to encourage people to respect and value animals rather than use them.

The 'Links' section contains links to websites, articles and videos related to the topics discussed on this site. The short review I have written of each one is purely intended as a guide and reflects only my personal opinion. I try and keep them up-to-date, as I do the links themselves. The other page I must mention, the 'Guestbook', was created to let people talk to me about my site and provide some feedback. I read all the messages and keep them, unless I feel they're not relevant. Abusive messages must be deleted because I am responsible for the content of all messages and they must be appropriate for a younger audience.

I am very keen to debate the issues discussed on my site. Any messages in my 'Guestbook' which raise conflicting views will be deleted as they are otherwise visible to other visitors to my site and will present an image I disagree with. They will, however, be acknowledged as all messages there are, if a contact address is given.
